Our family moved to Sugarland Forest in 2019, and since then, have been creating our farmette through adding fruit trees, gardens, and of course chickens! We aim to grow extra fruits and vegetables each year to donate to those in need. Currently we have 11 happy, healthy chickens, including 9 hens and 2 roosters. Thus far on our land, we are growing apples, cherries, peaches, pears, blueberries, raspberries, and a variety of vegetables and herbs in our garden. This page will be a place to get to know our chickens, so you know where your eggs are coming from and can enjoy in the adventure of tending to chickens! Pictured below is Tillie Mae, an Isa Brown.
We are so excited to be a part of Sugarland Forest, a land with a rich history in farming and so much more! Our goal is to revive our land and follow in the footsteps of the original culture of Sugarland Forest where neighbors came together to share crops! More to come on the history of our land!
